Information you choose to share
An enquiry may include your name, company, business email, delivery location, product requirements and correspondence. Drawings or schedules may also identify project contacts. Share only information needed for the enquiry, and remove unrelated personal information from attachments.
The website's enquiry tool prepares a draft in your browser. It does not submit a form to our server or upload files. Information reaches us when you send it through your email service. Copying or downloading the draft creates a copy under your control; opening an email draft does not mean that we have received it.
Why we use enquiry information
We use relevant information to answer questions, prepare quotations, clarify drawings, arrange samples, communicate about orders and maintain business records. We may also need it to investigate a supply issue, protect correspondence against misuse or meet an applicable legal obligation.
Where data protection law requires a lawful basis, the basis depends on the activity: steps requested before a contract or performance of a contract where applicable, legitimate interests in handling business communications and administering customer relationships, or compliance with legal obligations. We do not treat an enquiry as permission for unrelated promotional messages.
Access and sharing
Staff handling your enquiry or order may access the information relevant to their work. Where necessary, we may share limited details with service providers or parties involved in the requested supply, such as a production partner, inspector, logistics provider or professional adviser. We may disclose information when required by law.
Information is handled by our business in China. A cross-border enquiry therefore involves sending information to China, and service providers involved in correspondence or fulfilment may operate in other countries. Applicable transfer requirements and safeguards depend on the processing involved. Contact us if you need information about the handling of a particular project before sharing its documents.
Website technology
The website does not include advertising trackers or analytics scripts. The enquiry tool does not store its fields in browser local storage or set tracking cookies. Your email service and any third-party websites you choose to visit have their own privacy arrangements.
Web hosting and network systems may process connection information needed to deliver and protect a website, such as IP addresses and request details. These technical records are separate from enquiry information that you email to us.
Retention and protection
We retain information for as long as needed for its business purpose, taking account of an ongoing enquiry, order administration, applicable record-keeping duties and the handling of disputes. The retention period is not the same for every type of record.
We limit access according to business need and take appropriate measures to protect information. Email is not suitable for every confidential document. If a project requires a particular document-transfer or confidentiality arrangement, agree that arrangement before sending the material.
Your requests
Depending on the law that applies, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or receive personal information, restrict its use or object to certain processing. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw that consent. Some requests are subject to exceptions, including records that must be retained by law.
Send requests to info@fencingwise.com, identifying the correspondence or records concerned. We may need proportionate information to verify identity before releasing or changing a record. You may also have the right to complain to the data protection authority in your jurisdiction.
