Review the openings throughout the boundary
Consider spaces between bars, within curved tops, below panels and beside posts. A nominal panel height does not describe these openings. Include final ground levels so gaps beneath stepped or sloping runs can be assessed.
Bow top railings offer one upper-edge form, but a rounded top alone does not establish playground suitability. The complete arrangement must meet the project's requirements for the intended users.
Treat the gate as part of the play-area layout
Mark the approach, clear passage and direction of swing. Coordinate the closing and latching arrangement with the path and nearby equipment. Show accessible hinge and closing-edge details for assessment.
A closer should be selected and adjusted for its actual gate assembly. Do not treat the presence of a closer as proof that every operating or trapping risk has been resolved.
Include grounds-maintenance access
A small everyday entrance may not accommodate mowing or maintenance equipment. List a separate service opening where required, together with its operating arrangements and connection to the surrounding panels.
Check the movement area against planting, furniture and surface changes shown on the final landscape plan.
Keep repairs consistent with the assessed arrangement
Record the rail and bar geometry, brackets, gate hardware and finish. Changing one of those components can alter the opening or movement originally reviewed.
Posts and fixings should be identified by reference for future replacement. The supplied package covers the agreed materials; application assessment and installation design remain part of the project team's work.
