Separate recoverable material at the workshop
FencingWise combines in-house production with partner sourcing. Metal offcut segregation forms part of our confirmed production approach. Keeping metal residues separate from packaging makes the material stream easier to identify; it does not establish the recycled content of a finished panel.
A purchase requiring a particular recycled-material percentage needs evidence for the supplied material and an agreed calculation boundary. A general statement that steel can be recycled cannot establish what went into a particular wire coil, post or gate frame. We do not publish an unverified recycled-content percentage or carbon-saving figure.
Protect the finish with less avoidable packaging
Packaging has two jobs: keep the order together and protect the surfaces that must arrive undamaged. Reducing a separator that prevents steel parts rubbing together can increase repair work at the destination. The useful question is which protection can be reduced while preserving the condition of the goods.
For a repeat order, compare packing arrangements against the same panel dimensions, bundle weight and unloading method. Record damaged corners, strap marks and missing parts by bundle reference. Use that evidence to adjust contact protection or packing density, rather than removing material solely to make a package lighter.

Make replacement possible before the first delivery
An intact fence can still be difficult to maintain when its panel, clamp or post specification has been lost. Keep the approved drawing revision, finished dimensions, coating identification and hardware references with the maintenance record.
Measure a replacement connection against the installed assembly. The same nominal panel width may use a different post pitch; a similar-looking clamp may have a different hole or bearing surface. A small compatibility check can prevent an otherwise usable section from being replaced unnecessarily.
Preserve protection during service
Include the cleaning and repair instructions applicable to the supplied finish in the handover pack. Inspect damaged areas before applying a cosmetic topcoat, and identify the substrate and coating layers first. Maintenance recommendations depend on the product and exposure. They do not establish a universal service life or a fixed warranty period. Public statements about carbon performance, environmental certification or an EPD require product-specific evidence; none is implied by these practical measures.
