Two layers need a defined relationship
A double-skin order needs explicit inner and outer references. The layers, spacers and fasteners must remain identifiable through fabrication review, packing and any later replacement enquiry. The usual 358 reference of 76.2 × 12.7 mm describes wire-centre spacing, not necessarily the clear opening. Our double-skin enquiry also needs each layer’s position, separation or offset and post connection. These dimensions define the assembly depth, visibility and access to its fasteners.
The wire diameter, panel dimensions and support arrangement belong to the agreed product schedule. Doubling the number of skins does not automatically double a security rating or establish a tested delay.
Decide whether the added layer serves the project

A single-skin system may be easier to inspect and maintain. A double-skin system may be specified for a particular project requirement, but the designer must establish that requirement and the supporting evidence. Compare the complete system rather than simply counting wires.
Keep both mesh layers and their connections in one order schedule
Identify both skins, posts, clamps or bars, spacers, fasteners and closing details. Use assembly marks so that installers can distinguish the inner and outer components. Keep replacement panels linked to the original layer arrangement; similar mesh alone does not establish fit.

Confirm the complete connection drawing before ordering components. Any sample should reproduce the relevant layer relationship and fixing access. Required resistance evidence must apply to the proposed assembly and permitted custom variations.
