Start with the interface that is uncertain
For an existing fence, the useful starting point is often a connection rather than a whole-site photograph. The post face, fixing holes, panel edge and clamp shape show how the parts meet. For a new project, a layout and a typical connection drawing provide the same context.

A dimension marked as fixed is different from a dimension proposed for discussion. Showing that distinction prevents a suggested component from being mistaken for an approved substitution.
What the review produces
Our supply discussion identifies the proposed items, the dimensions used for quotation and any unresolved connection details. Available product drawings or component explanations can accompany that discussion. The aim is a material schedule that describes how the quoted parts belong together.
Consider a replacement panel between existing posts. Its overall width alone is insufficient if the old panel overlaps the post and the new one uses a side bracket. The connection detail establishes which width is needed before a compatible panel can be quoted. The panel width guide explains those different measurements.
Where project design takes over
Foundation dimensions, structural loads, anchorage and powered-gate safety need the responsible project specialists. A drawing supplied for component identification does not establish that the proposed fence is structurally suitable for a particular site.
When the designer has specified a section, fixing arrangement or performance requirement, retain that reference in the enquiry. A proposed alternative should be returned for review rather than silently treated as equivalent.
Keep one agreed revision
Once the material scope is agreed, the quotation, drawings and component list should refer to the same revision. Changes to gate openings or post positions may affect several line items even if the total fence length stays constant.
