Start with the interface that is uncertain
For replacement work, send measured views of the joint: panel edge, post face, fixing holes and the part to replace. For a new project, share the proposed layout and a typical connection detail. Mark fixed dimensions so we can distinguish a required match from a size available for discussion.

A dimension marked as fixed is different from a dimension proposed for discussion. Showing that distinction prevents a suggested component from being mistaken for an approved substitution.
What the review produces
The review identifies the items to quote, the dimensions defining them and the interfaces still unresolved. Available component drawings or explanations support that list. The output is a clearer manufacturing enquiry with an explicit revision, not an assumption that every project design issue has been settled.
Consider a replacement panel between existing posts. Its overall width alone is insufficient if the old panel overlaps the post and the new one uses a side bracket. The connection detail establishes which width is needed before a compatible panel can be quoted. The panel width guide explains those different measurements.
Where project design takes over
Foundation dimensions, structural loads, anchorage and powered-gate safety need the responsible project specialists. A drawing supplied for component identification does not establish that the proposed fence is structurally suitable for a particular site.
When the designer has specified a section, fixing arrangement or performance requirement, retain that reference in the enquiry. A proposed alternative should be returned for review rather than silently treated as equivalent.
Keep one agreed revision
When the component scope is accepted, use the same revision on the quotation, drawing and parts schedule. A custom gate opening or changed post position can affect several items; identifying that dependency before production helps prevent a correctly made part from arriving with the wrong mating components.
